Enfin prendre forme dans la revue Nocturnes, 2021
to my english speaking readers, just in case : this letter mentions Sylvain Luc, a world-renowned french jazz guitarist who suddenly died this week, said to be the most talented one by Path Metheny (comparisons are not my cup of tea, but indeed he was a genius and genuine, with a heart on his chords).

Marion
The hardest part of life is taking shape.
Embody for an indefinite period the form that is destined for us, without attaching to it, without enclosing ourselves, without diluting ourselves, always seeking what is most just for oneself and therefore for the world.
As usual, I write in I-you-us-others without identifying myself or pointing fingers. The intimate that I write is not the life of my little self, it is that of the whole world that is to say of fruitful individualities because they meet in the collective. Also, everything can speak to you or nothing at all in the following, or a bit or just to a tiny slice of your skin etc. And this is insanely normal, it is just a proof of humanity that seeks to recognize itself in a form of (hi)story. That is what this letter is all about: taking shape.
The hardest part of life is taking shape.
Some of us sink into the mould very early by obligation of survival and absence of liberating models, and at the end of the day: suffering. Others even don’t feel their numbness and follow one another like a soporific in the form of a religion, beliefs, a diet, a trend, by becoming a supposed identity that we believe to know everything. At the end, when a place, a being, a dogma, a spirituality, a work, a relationship is taken away from them, they believe they are nothing when they have never known who they really were - and there begins a suffering that fortunately can also free them from their conditioned ego. Still others wander from one form to another, try everything and its opposite, evolve as a chameleon without ever finding the solution to go well, be recognized or fixed : they only know the suffering of trying to resemble what already exists without knowing that they already have a place here but they persist in not (daring) to take it, because they have such a special form, so different from others in appearance... then they remain in the illusion of separation from themselves and others.
1 - Some have finally understood, because they felt it, that taking shape is embodying by letting our energy spread itself in what is most natural to us, the most easy and obvious. This often requires deconstructing many layers. But everything starts from the body, so it is easier to call on him to find this pure feeling of being (to) oneself, without questioning about what we look like, what we should say or do.
2- At that moment we understood, because we felt it, a second thing: our energy flows and naturally takes shape when we leave it flowing. Flow is what allows us to go from one state to another without rigidifying ourselves in thoughts, habits, appearances, movements, creations, without suffering from attachment or identification with what we believe to be.
I believe that if some of us disturb when they change their appearance, their trajectory, their identity, it is because they give us a glimpse of a freedom that we are unable to consider and that they try to touch: simply being, without being conditioned by the outside, to attempt a new form that does not exist or so little.
3- Taking shape starts from within, by touching our own energy and vibration. Otherwise, we spend our time looking outside to put on clothes of energy, art, lifestyles, which ultimately have little to do with us or that trigger us - but can inspire us and help us sort out what suits us best.
So we have to experiment to test different forms to know what suits our body, where our energy is free to circulate to let resonate our vibration and take the form that reflects our being as best as possible, in all its facets AND in the present moment.
I’m starting to take a path, trying to experience… I don’t really know where I’m going but I feel like I want to, so I keep going, I embroider, I deepen… but my body and my voice tell me it’s not that good, I’m going around in circles or I don’t like it. Hop! I turn, I turn, I try another way and there I feel that I can go much further but because it is much easier! My energy? I don’t even think about it anymore, whether it’s good, fair or beautiful, I don’t care. I am just right because everything is unified in me: the energy, the vibration, and the form that it reflects in my body and my voice. So I continue freely, because I know that at any time I am free to choose whether or not to stay in the form I tested with my body and my voice.
What is this experience where one learns to take shape little by little?
It is the one that I transmit through the alliance of vocal improvisation and intuitive movement, two pillars of body.voix.words practice associated with the energetic and creative aspects it contains. Guided by our body.voice, we let ourselves be tested in different forms… without trying to find THE form, because to attach to it would already lead back to the suffering of identification. We train ourselves to the pleasure of no longer knowing who “I” is, but simply to evolve where we feel it does us good, where it is wide, easy, large, a wide or very small path, It does not matter since it is here that our body.voice asks us to go to flow energy in a form that suits us well.
And this is what helps us to create our art.life without locking us in or getting lost. Like a garment that would fit us perfectly because it would evolve with us, according to our variations of weight, taste, mood, internal temperature... Our body.voice constantly unfolds itself in this perpetual evolving form.
Try to be someone and you’ll never be. Let your body.voice take shape freely and you will meet your being every day, grown and reborn, different because even closer to its pure essence.
Art is inherently mobile like life. We ignore all the many forms we could take in our arts.lives, because we are so ignorant of our possibilities.
The Way of the Body.voice.words that I practice and teach puts us in direct contact with all our possibilities, to return closer to our lost facilities, by putting energy back into circulation by stimulating our unique vibration… And the more we experience taking shape through our body.voice, the more we deepen the substance to touch our true being, our Self. This form-substance bond becomes more coherent and we then enter into an inner unity that is naturally reflected on the outside: this is what allows us to be recognized for who we really are, at peace with us, and comfortable with our harmonized outer form. We know nothing of these countless forms that are possible to us but the art of vocal improvisation allows us to touch a little of this infinity thanks to our voice.
With more sadness than I would have thought, I finish writing this meditation thinking of Sylvain Luc, who has admirably linked the background to the form by making us travel in his wide and magnificent universe, while remaining in this light simplicity proper to beings vibrating high. It is customary for me to thank at the end of a meditation/ writing/ voice over the beings who contributed to the words/voice flow through my heart. So thank you to this artist whose generous vibration I had the chance to feel in concert. We know nothing of the form his being takes now that his physical body is dead, but we can get a taste of it by listening to his music again. Thank you Sylvai Luc for allowing me to glimpse such rich and constantly renewed forms, which nourished me with freedom, en-Vie, inspiration for my vocal improvisation and my life.
The experience of being yourself and testing forms continues every week via the Bodyvoice flow routines (free, on zoom, without commitment). See you tomorrow 08.00 am CET
For those who prefer to practice at the time they want, meet here to freely choose among all the routines already recorded since January.
With gratitude for our bodies.voices that call us to cultivate our vibrations towards renewal,
